Motorcycles and scooters are the primary means of transportation in both Cambodia and Vietnam. They are used to transport everything, including entire families, packages, trees, etc. We saw one with a refrigerator strapped to the driver's back and another with a family of six. But those went by too quickly to be captured on film.
After World War II, with funds provided through the Marshall Plan, Fiat produced a small, affordable car that allowed Italians not only mobility but badly needed industrial production. The Fiat 500, modeled after their original small cars built in the late 1930's, became ubiquitous throughout Italy. As we traveled around Italy, we often saw vintage Fiat 500s still in use almost 60 years after first being produced.
